How would you describe your life in only five words?
Hectic never a dull moment!
Which living person do you admire most?
My mother for her grace, poise, elegance, kindness and eternal beauty in the face of life’s challenges.
Why did you write the book?
I wanted to write about the stages of womanhood, growing up against a backdrop of changing Irish society and coming of age.
Which word or phrase do you use too much?
What is your favourite childhood book?
The Amelia Bedelia series by Peggy Parish. They are so funny and I loved how she always got there in the end and came out on top!
What is your favourite book of all time?
The Alchemist by Paul Coehlo.
As a writer, what would you choose as your mascot/avatar/spirit animal?
The deer because it is a sacred animal with the spirit of gentleness and softness, a messenger, a shaman; maize and femininity personified. They are agile and intuitive both features a writer needs and their antlers reach for the sky reflecting ambition for the writer.
What was the most difficult aspect of the writing process?
How do you select the names of your characters?
A hybrid of life and imagination.
How long did it take you to write Amelia Found!!
In total 10 years from conception to completion. The first book is always the hardest.
